Wednesday is always Date Night, and for a change we left the hood to visit one of our favorite haunts, Lucky's in Oak Lawn. But I have to say this place is losing its luster. They used to serve the best biscuits and cornbread, but tonight we didn't get any. And I used to love their spinach casserole, but tonight it left me cold. The food was just really average. So I don't know that we'll be making a special trip to Lucky's on future Date Nights.
Other than that it was a normal writing day, peppered with junk phone calls. Apparently our inclusion on the "Do Not Call" list has expired. I put us back on, but it takes a month to fully take effect. Meanwhile we are just getting tons of calls (and not even from real people--recorded messages.) At least we can hang up on them without feeling guilty. The strangest thing is, we're getting junk calls for Tad Carter, who is my husband's ex-wife's husband. We also occasionally get junk mail for him. I'm pretty sure they're not deliberately giving out our address and phone number, and I can only conclude that the mix-up came from Nick's high school--Nick is the only concrete connection our two households have.
Oh, well, anyway, Happy Hump Day.
