Our long-lost Wishcraft member, Martie, returned to the fold today. She had a lot going on over the summer--trips and family visiting, etc. that kept her away. I was worried she might not come back, but today there she was raring to go.
After Wishcraft, my critique group met at the Blue Goose, a fabulous Mexican restaurant where I limited myself to a bowl of tortilla soup. I'd already been bad at breakfast--went to Norma's because we were out of coffee AND milk.
Then I did something amazing--you just won't believe it when I tell you. I went to the grocery store. Finally! I bought about fifty cans of soup so I'll at least have SOMETHING edible in the house when I run out of salad and fruit and cheese. I suppose, though, when my mother-in-law visits I should serve a few real meals, like with meat and stuff. (Although my m.i.l. is the most undemanding guest--she always wants to go out for meals. I could interpret that to mean she hates my cooking, but I don't think that's it. I think she just doesn't like to eat our food--she thinks we'll run out or starve or something after she goes home.
I bought Da Vinci, my cockatiel, another new toy and some bird chow today in my new quest to provide him with better nutrition and more interesting things to do. The new toy is a big woven straw thing with all sorts of braids and tassels that he can tear up. So far he is of course terrified of it, but eventually he'll figure out what it's for.
Yoga was lovely--I did a headstand today all by myself with no one to help me up. For the first time I really felt balanced.
Hope you're having a wonderful week--and that you're anticipating an even more wonderful weekend!
