The second annual Buns 'n' Roses Tea for Literacy is over, and it was a great success! We had a room full of authors and enthusiastic readers, we ate scones and drank tea, we listened to an inspiring speech by Vicki Lewis Thompson, sold and autographed books, had a REALLY good time and raised a lot of money. I don't know how much yet, but when I hear I'll post it.
After a weekend of activities, though, I'm exhausted! I'm essentially an introvert, and while I enjoy getting out and eating and drinking and being merry, and I LOVE to meet readers, it truly exhausts me, especially when I have a long drive both ways.
But anyway, I'm home now, eating leftovers from a dinner at Pappasito's (also a fabulous time, hosted by Sara Reyes of the DFW Reader's Tea) and listening to it thunder outside and pour rain.
My mother-in-law arrives Tuesday. I've been trying to get the house straightened up--it's still a bit of a wreck after painting the living room. I haven't organized everything yet, but I'm getting closer.
Tomorrow, though, it's back to real life and writing. Two more books to write.
Have a great week
