* * *
It started out with Norma's for breakfast.
Then I planted some kitty grass for my cat, and I planted an orchid.
Then I wrote a book review and some other stuff, and it was time for lunch already. Had a sandwich, and then Rob helped me make some cuts in some wood for an egg-cup shelf I'm building. I drew up the plans and bought the wood months ago. Unfortunately, the plans have since vanished, so I had to figure out all over again how to do the shelf. I don't think it's quite as good as before. Making the cuts was complex, too, because we don't have a workbench or a vice or even C-clamps. We use the front porch, and I stand on one end of the wood and he cuts the other.
When that was done I retired to do some critiquing, and then it was time for dinner. I know, I know, all I do is eat! Sally, my mother-in-law, took us out for dinner, and we went to Chan Tai--yum!
We came home and went to a block party--a birthday party for one of our neighbors, with a live reggae band and--ugh!--potluck dinner. We were so stuffed we didn't bring anything and didn't expect to eat anything, though after we'd been there for about an hour we did nibble a bit--like I really needed to eat more!
It's been fun but I'm glad the day is over. I need a nap.
I've been trying to entice Da Vinci (my bird) to eat some fruits and vegetables as the vet ordered. He wasn't interested in dried cranberries, corn-on-the-cob or carrot shavings, but he did try the apple. I scammed a piece of pound cake from the party and will give it to him tomorrow, as that's one of the things recommended to entice him to try new things.
Hasta la vista,
Kara
