After dropping off Rob's mother at the airport this morning, Rob took the train home and I drove north to Plano. But since I was early for Wishcraft, I spent about 40 minutes hiking around the Arbor Hills Nature Preserve. The cold weather made the birds very active. I saw the usual suspects (cardinals, bluejays, mockimgbirds and mourning doves) plus crows, chipping sparrows, and a couple of hawks--a red tail, which was very close to me, hunting from the top of a cedar, and a maybe Cooper's hawk circling overhead. I wish I could have stayed longer.
We had a good Wishcraft meeting, then met critique group for lunch at Oliver's. And coffee at Starbuck's. (Nothing like blowing an entire day with girltalk.)
I stopped at World Market on my way home to buy wine for the party Saturday. Then it was off to yoga for more girl talk, and a brutal class where we did a lot of basic poses--but when you do them right, you're engaging every frickin' muscle in your body and you can get out of breath just standing perfectly still. I can hardly move right now.
