* * *
I went to the grocery store today just to buy a few things--ingredients for my appetizer recipe for the wine-tasting party, cereal and Silk and half-and-half, cat food, a few veggies ... and it was close to a hundred dollars. I almost fainted. My grocery store has undergone a facelift (I thought it was just fine before) and I swear they raised all the prices.
I did not get much writing done today. I'm trying to fix the first scene of my book, which is still wrong, wrong, wrong, and I just can't get it to "feel" right. It's going to be a trial-and-error thing. I have to keep futzing with it until it comes out right. So that's what I did--I futzed.
And I cleaned and straightened. Things were a bit of a mess after my mother-in-law's visit. Not her fault, of course. I just didn't clean and straighten much while she was here.
Rob and I got our oil changed today and I had them check my brakes because they squeak something awful. They said the brakes were fine, and they cleaned them or something like that so they wouldn't squeak.
Have a lovely weekend,
Kara
