Last night my neighborhood wine-tasting group, the "Winnetka Winos," met at our house for our bi-monthly tasting. It's a lot of fun. Each couple (or single person) brings a bottle of wine and an appetizer. We take turns introducing ourselves, our wine, and the food.
I'm not exactly the most relaxed hostess in the world, so I've been angsting over this party for weeks. But everything went off without a hitch, and I made a very funny appetizer. In honor of Halloween, I served severed fingers. They were made with rolled up prosciutto ham and parmesan cheese, baked, with a sliced almond as the fingernail. I made a melon dip to go with them.
Earlier yesterday, though, we had our Dallas Area Romance Authors meeting, and our speaker was Wendy Lyn Watson, who talked to us about the inaccuracies of eyewitness accounts in crimes and how easy it is for someone to be wrongfully convicted based on faulty eyewitness testimony.
I'm not sure how relevant the subject was to writing, but it was fascinating stuff!
Today I was just a total slug. I watched TV and ate leftovers all day. Except tonight. Tonight I wrote three blogs because tomorrow is another triple-blog day. You can read my other blogs at www.romancingtheblog.com and http://harauthors.blogspot.com. The second one is my account of taking my cockatiel to the vet, which I already talked about on this blog--I apologize for the repetition but I was sort of desperate for something to write about. Some days the ideas just don't come!
Thanks for reading,
Kara
