I am almost ready to send my YA book to a prospective agent. Feels like I've been working on this thing for years! But that's what happens when you don't write. You get stuck.
Rob and I tried to recycle today. Our apartment building has no recycling and I just couldn't throw all that stuff away. So we loaded it into the car and drove to a recycling center. but you had to sort everything and stuff it through teeny holes, and it took forever. Plus, we burned fossil fuels to get over there.
I am really surprised any place in California is so backward that apartment buildings can't recycle. But unless I can persuade a friend with a recycling bin to take my junk, I'll have to add to the landfill. 'cause I'm not doing what I did today--what a pain.
I finally finished up my crocheted scarf that I mostly finished during the drive from Dallas to Long Beach. You can see it here:

Let's see, what else: Rode our bikes to the art supply store today. Wow, what a great store. I could wander there for hours, and it's only half a mile from my apartment. I bought some watercolors and paper and a good drawing pencil. I figure, until we move into a house and I can have a dedicated craft room again, I have to do things that don't take up much space.
Guess I'll go watch some Hulu (since I've never bought a converter box and I no longer subscribe to Direct TV).
cheers,
Kara
